T.Y.N.T.K. (Things You Need To Know)

Practice Requirements
KinderKeys through Level II students are required to practice each song assigned at least two times daily, for a minimum of four (4) days a week.

Level III students are required to practice a minimum of 5 days per week for at least 20 minutes daily.

Level IV and up students are required to practice for at least 30 minutes daily.

Prizes & Awards
As a method of encouragement and motivation, students are awarded tickets for practicing music, memory work, good behavior and other times at the teacher's discretion. Students are given the opportunity to cash in tickets for prizes on a monthly basis.

Students who memorize 5 or more songs are given special recognition through our class Memory Club Wall and a special award at the Spring Recital in May. A level completion certificate, ribbon and t-shirt are also presented at the Spring Recital. Students completing their 5th year will receive a trophy.

When Your Child Is Absent
When your child is absent, his or her teacher will put the assigned music in the Music Pick-Up Box located outside their piano classroom. You may pick up the music at your convenience during studio hours. Please make sure you pick up the music to allow time for adequate practice before the next lesson.

Testing
Students will be given a written and performance evaluation at the completion of each piano level. Students must pass this evaluation in order to proceed to the next level. Since piano concepts are cumulative, it is necessary for each level to be mastered before advancing to the next.

Communication
You should feel free to contact your teacher by phone or email at any time during the week. Please refrain from lengthy conversations before or after class as teachers are teaching lessons back to back. Make sure to check your child’s music folder or email for written communication or important studio information.

Parking
Please park in the designated spaces or along the curb of the circle drive. For drop-off and pick-up, please use the circle drive and enter to the right. Please do not park in or block access to the circle drive area. Our neighbor has asked that we not park in his lot or cut across his lot to gain access to the studio parking.

Safety
All students must wait INSIDE until their ride is DIRECTLY in front of the studio. Please DO NOT ask your child to exit the studio and walk to your parked vehicle. Many of them run across the parking lot and may not see cars in motion. If you prefer to park, please get out of your car and claim your child from the lobby area.

PLEASE be prompt when delivering and picking up your children. We do not have staff available to watch your child after his/her lesson has ended.

Our staff insists that all children wait inside the lobby area. However, once lessons are in session, it is impossible for us to watch children who are left waiting. Your promptness will ensure your child’s safety.

Payment Drop Box
A drop box is located in the lobby area. Payments may be mailed, delivered electronically, dropped in the payment box during studio hours, or left in the mailbox after hours. PLEASE make sure you write your child’s FIRST and LAST name on your payment.
