Goals
Research tells us that the first five years of a child's life impact his learning potential for the rest of his life.

It is our goal at Stacy's Studio of Music & Arts Preschool to provide students with opportunities to:

• Build self-confidence in a loving, nurturing environment.
• Learn to reason and develop reading, writing, math, language & social skills.
• Develop a healthy, balanced lifestyle through physical fitness and nutrition.
• Express themselves creatively through art, music and dramatic play.

Curriculum
Stacy’s Studio combines a broad range of academics including instruction in the fine arts. We use a thematic approach where monthly themes are incorporated into all centers of learning. In addition to classroom curricula, all students will attend a Music, Art and Fun Fit class each week. Our 4 year old and T-K program also includes computer and Spanish instruction. All classes are taught by degreed and/or certified teachers in their specialized field.

MUSIC
Kindermusik (3 & 4 yr. Old classes)
Our music program is designed for active, energetic, enthusiastic and imaginative 3- and 4-year-olds and encourages socialization, sharing, and participating in group activities. Singing becomes a focus for enhancing the preschooler’s vocal development as his/her expressive language is just beginning to emerge. Pretend play activities are integrated with music, vocal development, storytelling, movement and literature to capture each child’s immense potential to learn and to encourage her creativity and individuality. Research shows that participation in a music program develops listening skills, auditory discrimination, and ability to interpret signals and cues with use of instruments. It increases vocabulary, improves memory and sequencing skills and polishes auditory skills as they sing. And, they become conscience of moods and rhythms of music and how to express themselves each time they move to the beat.

KinderKeys (TK Classes)
This 45-minute class combines piano playing with interactive games, fun theory pages and rhythm instruments. The KinderKeys program is designed specifically for 5 year old students to teach pre-staff reading skills. Students will learn to feel and play a steady beat. They will count and play accurately two-eighths, quarter, half, dotted half and whole note rhythms. Also, they will learn to track music from left to right and play the keys A, B, C, D, E, F, & G. Students will be able to play the piano using multiple fingers.

Art
Students will explore the fundamentals of color, form, composition and texture with a variety of art media including paint, sculpture, collage, printmaking and other unique, theme related projects. During art class, students will paint at an easel, which is designed to develop a child’s imagination, creativity, eye-hand coordination, express feelings and give value to their ideas. He/she will learn concepts of shape, size and location. They will learn how to mix two colors to make new ones. When they draw, they will learn how to hold a pencil and other drawing tools, develop hand muscles and learn to express themselves in ways other than words.

FUN FIT
Our Fun Fit classes provide fun exercise that is both safe and effective for the development of large muscle groups, motor skills, coordination and balance. Specially designed activities will help create special awareness, rhythm and social development. Age appropriate lessons on exercise, health and nutrition are incorporated into this high energy class.
